Under the bridges of Stockholm

Our day on Saturday, still in Stockholm

Today we're going on a water tour, "Under the bridges of Stockholm"
Unfortunately for us it had settled in for a good rain, Fortunately we remembered our umbrellas that day, Unfortunately for us it made photos very difficult, Fortunately for you that means there are not so many!!

If you look at the map you can see the solid line outlining where we traveled. It was a great way to see the area from another view.

You can see what we looked like huddling under our umbrellas while waiting to get on the boat!

Well, not "us" exactly....but the people lined up in front of us!

I don't believe this was the actual boat we took, but it was similar.  There were many tour boats available.

The inside--we sat at tables on each side, headphones were provided for the tour in any language that you needed!  Oh yeah, they had a coffee bar available too....  BIG SMILE!

The windows all were large, and opened, which would have been lovely had it not been raining!  As it was, either we took the photos thru the glass and got rain spotted window glass reflections, or we slid the window open and quickly snapped a photo, mostly earning rain drop spots on our camera lenses!

I took a picture of these newer, modern apartments, as they are in big contrast to the older and mostly colorful buildings.

I'm posting these pictures especially for those who have asked "where are the people"? *smile!*  This week there were lots of political activites going on as voting day was on Sunday.  Here these people were gathering listening to a speech.  Even on the balcony above the street.  It was raining quite heavily--obviouslly people here are in the habit of carrying umbrellas with them.

After we arrived back at our home we were spending the night at, our hosts took us to the mall for supper at the food court.   There were a lot of very interesting food choices. Ruth & I both ordered native Swedish because we just thought we had to while here! She had Kottbullar (Swedish meatballs) with mashed potatoes and a side of lingonberries, which are similar to cranberries in our opinion, with lingonberry juice to drink. I had Raggmunk (basically grilled ham slices & potato pancakes) with a side of lingonberries. Anyway, there was sushi, mexican, turkish, lebanese, greek, thai, chinese, italian, american steak sandwich, and burger king that we remember! It was very hard to choose, but finally decided it really needed to be Swedish!
